Collection complete des oeuvres de J. J. Rousseau : Citoyen de Geneve (I-XXIV) + Supplément (XXV-XXX) + Second supplément (XXXI-XXXIII)

Inbunden bok.

Hyggligt skick. [Format: 11 x 16,5 cm. Complete in 33 volumes.] The work, and the first supplement was published by Société Typographique with Paul Moultou & Pierre-Alexandre DuPeyrou (or du Peyrou) as editors - the second supplément was published by Chez Barde, Manget & Compagnie, after Société Typographique had been liquidated. The second supplement, containing the second part of the "confessions", was edited by Pierre Moulou, oldest son of Paul Moultou. --- A Geneve 1782/1782/1789 (some are actually printed in 1781, which shows on the specific title page after the main "collected works" title page). The volumes contain roughly 300-600 pages each. The work is bound in rather simple paperboard hardcovers with double title labels on spine. The work is illustrated with vignettes in the end of text sections (chapters, or similar) and with 19 fold-out plates with mostly music sheets, but also a few tables of various sorts (volume 18). 5 of the fold-outs are printed on both sides. --- The volumes are, to a varying degree, shelf-worn and with surface wear to spine and also to boards but to a lesser degree regarding the boards. Two of the top title labels (containing the author's name) are lost, and one of the bottom title labels (containing volume number and "topic" - in this case "supplément") is lost. Contents are clean and fairly bright and foxing to an almost non-existent degree. The last 3 volumes, which were printed separately in 1789, are the exception. They have sections of foxing in the text block. It is however very light and not at all disturbing. Waterstaining is found in volume 4, mainly along the top edges, and on a few pages in the end of volume 5. Both 4 and 5 have water stained top edges. Volume 10 has a loose, fragile binding. There are no lost pages I can assure, having looked it through thoroughly. There are sections of corner creasing in volume: 4 (20 pages), 5 (40 pages + 40 with light creasing from pressure), 6 (10 pages), 9 (throughout the volume, light creasing from pressure), 10 (10 pages), 17 (many pages, light creasing from pressure), 24 (throughout the volume, from pressure). In addition, there are single corner creases here and there throughout the work. Some of the volumes have a slight "old book odor". It's not mold, and I'm fairly sure it can be removed, atleast to a very high degree. Overall condition is good, or atleast ok.
