the breed, not only in England and on the Continent, but also in the United States. Many are the side effects of sudden popularity. Increased ckssificadon at shows has created a shortage of experienced judges, which in turn has resulted in too much importance being given to coat, colour and glamour, to the detriment of conformation, type and soundness. Another adverse tread is the indiscriminate breeding by inexperienced people for financial reward.
