Language: Italian.] Edizione Quasar, Roma 1976. 424 (2) semi-glossy pages in publishers light brown linen hardcover with title gilt/imprinted on spine, in the same style as on the jacket, and a white imprinted skull, resembling the one on the jacket, on the front cover. The dust jacket has a coated surface. The book begins with a text part until page 106 (there are a few maps in black and white among these pages). Pages 109-424 are plates with a total of 224 (they are numbered, with a short explanatory text) illustrations in both color and in black and white (roughly 50/50). The 224 illustrations are photographic reproductions of the objects exhibited in one of the most important prehistoricc and ethnographic collections in Europe. Both text and plates sections are divided into geographical areas. Plates sections are divided as follows: Pre-historic, Africa, Indonesia, Oceania (with sub-divisions Melanesia, Polynesia, Micronesia & Australia), America (with sub-divisions Northern America, Central America & South America). The text section is way more detailed. --- The book is in flawless shape. The jacket has a few tears that has been fairly neatly repaired with scotch tape on the inside. Jacket front has a toned stripe along the fore-edges and a circular hole around the spine head.
