[1] (4) (VIII) 553 (2) + [2] (3) (III) 467 + (4) (II) 486 (1) + (4) (IV) 646 pages in 4 leather spine hardcovers with blue melange endpapers and strengthened corners. The spines are numbered I on [1] and II, II:II and III on [2]--- All hardcovers have light to moderate shelf wear and one of them is worn at the spine head. All have cracking to spine label. [1] The volume is in worst shape of the 4, due to cracking to the inner hinge between pages 317 and 318. Contents are still intact, in place, but even with careful handling there is a risk that a section comes loose from the rest of the contents. Otherwise contents are clean and bright, with occasional light/medium foxing, mostly in margins but also in the textblock. [2] The contents of these 3 volumes are in great shape - bright and clean and with very few spots. Unlike [1], the binding of the last 3 volumes seem solid.
