(3) 1-140 + 141-288 + 289-587 (1) semi-glossy pages + XXXIII mounted plates + fold-out maps in 3 private (by the successor of Emil Byskou - bookbinder's label on the inside of the back board) half-leather volumes with rounded corners, beautifully decorated board paper and semi-densely, sprinkled edges in black (or very dark shade of other color). The work is richly illustrated in the text with black and white images, mostly photos and various types of maps (geological, geographical, topographical etc.), with 3 colored fold-out maps and also with 33 colorful illustrations (painted), mounted on black background paper. Both original covers are bound-in in all volumes. --- The books used to belong to the Geographical Institute, University of Aarhus (Denmark) which shows on the sticker and 2 stamps on the inside of the front board. There is also a partly removed dymo label on the front board, close to the spine foot. There are no markings (stamps, stickers etc.) in the contents, including the bound-in covers. --- The hardcovers are alittle worn around the corners and spines are somewhat scuffed. Binding is solid. Contents are bright and clean, with traces of handling - mostly very light or light, and in some cases moderate. Pages with mounted plates show very light traces of handling, or in some cases none at all. The books are well preserved, overall in very good or atleast good condition.
