Jeremiah "Jerry" P. Thomas was an American bartender during 18th hundred (1830-1885) who owned and operated saloons in New York City, he went under the nickname professor. Because of his pioneering work in popularizing cocktails across the United States as well, he is considered "the father of American mixology - coctails - drinks. The very first edition of Jerry Thomas' Bartenders Guide " How To Mix Drinks or A Bon Vivant's Companion " was printed 1862.
