Gott skick. [Format: 8 x 14 cm. Text: Latin.] Roterodami, typis viduae Arnoldi Leers 1681. (22 = "dedicatio", table of contents & "prologus") 554 (26 = index) pages in full leather (parchment) hardcover. Author's name written in ink, by hand on spine. Edited by Johannes Minellius (or "Jan Minelli") who published alot of latin classics for the Erasmus School in Rotterdam. On the inside of the front cover there is a sticker which reads "The New Age Holistic Library" and 2 ex-libris: "S. E. Melander" and "Gunnar/Gunnie Mällberg". On the inside of the back cover there's owner's name or names in ink. --- Title translates "Nine books of memorable deeds and sayings". The work is sometimes called "De factis dictisque memorabilibus" or "Facta et dicta memorabilia". Each of the 9 books contain several short stories imbued with a moral theme, many revolving around greek life or life in roman times. --- The hardcover is solid and in good shape, although stained and dust soiled. Contents overall are in good shape with fairly bright pages and very few spots, but there are a few flaws. Mentioned spots are dark and in text. With some effort the text is fully readable though. A very light water stain is visible in the top corner of pages 33-96. Many of the pages up to page 3 of the main text have ink underlining and some also margin notes. Mostly the underlining is of a word or sentance, but on a few pages it can be found in several places.
