Inbunden bok.

Gott skick. [This work consist of two main parts: "Guerre des Gaules" - volume 1 + 1-71 of volume 2. "Guerre Civile" - volume 2, page 72-end. Before the first part there is a 10 page biography - "Vie de Cesar", written by "LES".] --- A Lyon, Chez M. Rusand, Imprimeur-Libraire, 1810. (x) 415 + 467 pages in leather spine hardcovers (10.5 x 18 cm.) with all edges marbled. 2 fold-out maps (both roughly 25 x 17.5 cm.) in the beginning of the first volume. Translation from Latin to French by M. De Wailly. Ex-libris "De Shàrengrad" on inside of front cover of both volumes. --- A mistake was made when binding the second volume; the textblock was attached upside down in relation to the text on the spine. Both volumes have lightly worn spine ends and for some reason, the skin section containing title and the one containing volume number show more scuff wear than the other parts (consisting of black imprinted ornaments). Corners are bumped and bent inwards to varying degrees. Contents overall are clean and bright with very few spots, of which none obstructs the possibility to read the text. One black spot however, showing on pages 4, 5 and 6 in first volume, makes a few letters on page 5 difficult to make out. About 30-40 pages are poorly opened, more in second volume and fewer in first volume. Both volumes has solid binding. Contents of volume 1: A fair amount of underlining and margin markings until page 50, after that hardly any at all. Markings are both in pen and pencil. Underlining in pencil and mostly just single words. All markings are made carefull to not make reading difficult. 33/34 & 35/36 bottom corner damage with slight paperloss mainly along foot edges, less along front edges. The light contour of a water stain is visible in foot corner area (not in text) on pages 33-53, barely visible on the last pages. Page 63/64 bottom corner torn off. Page 187 incorrectly numbered "287". 249/250 dog's ear foot corner. Page 251 incorrectly numbered "351". 261-289 has light contour of water stain along front edges, lower half of page (not in text). 342/343 dog's ear bottom corner. 429 incorrectly numbered "229". Contents of volume 2: Page 195/196 has torn off foot corner. Page 255 has a 1 cm. tear to front edges. Page 307/308 has a small hole (approx. 1x3 mm.) in text, all text still readable. Pages 353/354 & 355/356 has top corner torn off. The torn off corners (or any other flaws for that matter) in both volumes has not in any case resulted in any text loss.
