Das Notgeld der deutschen Inflation 1922.

Das Notgeld der deutschen Inflation 1922.

Häftad bok.

Munich, Battenberg Verlag, 1975. 4to. 106 pp. + 13 plates + [3] pp. advertisements. Illustrated. Original pictorial wrappers. Fine. An important reference catalogue devoted to German emergency money (Notgeld) issued during the inflation of 1922 and the first half of 1923. Keller provides a historical introduction to the collapse of the German currency and the extraordinary proliferation of local emergency issues, followed by a detailed catalogue arranged by issuing authority. The catalogue distinguishes between the issues up to 31 December 1922, generally in denominations up to 1,000 Mark, and those issued from January to June 1923, predominantly in denominations of 5,000 and 10,000 Mark. Arnold Keller was one of the foremost authorities on German emergency paper money, and his catalogues became fundamental reference works for collectors. The original catalogues were produced in very small numbers; the present volume is Battenberg's 1975 unaltered reprint of Keller's second edition of 1954. Illustrated with 13 plates reproducing numerous examples of German inflationary Notgeld.
