210x137 mm. Språk: engelska. -- For the many Americans who are disaffected by the frustrating and futile "search" for joy, Mary Massaro offers a refreshingly cynical approach to happiness and a critical look at the ways in which we pursue it. With remarkable candor and incisive humor, Happiness and Other Lies presents:
* a thorough examination of happiness and the fallacies surrounding it,
* the causes of our contemporary malaise,
* the erroneous ways in which we aspire to happiness,
* the unpopular but true causes of happiness, and
* tongue-in-cheek lists that throw light on our nation's preoccupation with self-fulfillment.
From Prozac to sex manuals to the self-help industry, find out why we still feel empty . . . and still believe the lies.
