Formal Logic. A Modern Introduction
Inbunden bok. Prentice Hall. 1939. 407 sidor.
Mycket gott skick. This book provides a simple and clear survey of the field of formal logic, synthesizing classical and modern developments into a unified treatment of the whole. At first it displays the logical interrelations of concepts, propositions, and classes only as far as is necessary for the statement of the traditional logic of immediate inference and the syllogism. Then, it developpes the theory of classes further, and gradually presents the simple laws and technique of the Boole-Schröder algebra as a calculus of classes and show s how the valid forms of the traditional logic are but special cases of much more general and powerful validating forms. Later it reinterpret this algebra as a calculus of propositions.
