Here we have all the four plates and the rare title to "Sigtuna ruiner". These plates forms a part of the great plate book "Sveriges märkvärdigaste ruiner", by Michael Gustaf Anckarswärd, a very skilled lithographer. He had a fine ability to create lively compositions. His pictures have a lovely balance and presence. The town of Sigtuna is one of the oldest in Sweden.
33 x 24,5 cm. Title leaf + (2pp).+ 4 lithographic plates
The text and the plates are loosely housed in a contemporary marbled binding, A wrapper with the title pasted to the front cover, which also includes the titles to (Alvastra and Bohus which are not present, Sigtuna only).
Worn binding with some losses at the spine. The title, the text and two plates with a couple stains in the margins, Still quite nice condition, large margins, partly uncut.
