This guide, a companion to the East Spain Pilot for the Costa del Azahar, Dorada and Brava and the Islas Baleares, covers the south of Spain

The pilot is divided into two sections, the first being an introduction to cruising in Mediterranean Spain which details the general background information required by the visiting yachtsman. The second and third sections provide pilotage for the coasts. Every harbour and anchorage is described in detail and wherever possible plans and photographs are used to assist the text. The author lists the facilities to be found in each port and provides brief histories and general descriptions.

This is a revised edition of the original East Spain Pilot Chapter II Costa del Sol and III Costa Blanca which were first published as part of a loose-leaf series in 1976. Since that time the coasts have changed dramatically not least seeing a mushrooming in the number of yacht harbours which has necessitated the enlarging of the pilot and its reissue in this hardback format.

Colonel Robin Brandon has been sailing yachts for over 50 years and has intimate knowledge of the coasts between Norway and Italy. He is also the author of South Biscay Pilot, South France Pilot and South England Pilot

An examiner for the RYA/DoT Yachtmaster's Offshore Certificate, the author is a member of the Royal Institute of Navigation, Royal Cruising Club, Royal Ocean Racing Club, Cruising Association and an ex-Flag Officer of the Royal Artillery Yacht Club.

He has spent many months in his yacht surveying and re-surveying the coasts of the western Mediterrancan and his home is near the well known Port Grimaud in the south of France.
