Both book and the non price-clipped dust jacket are in great shape with only minor traces of wear/handling, of which the (by far) most obvious are a couple of bump marks on the spine ends area of the jacket, and a 5 mm. tear on the back of the jacket. Contents are flawless, with the exception of a few short notes in pencil on the pastedown and flyleaf. --- This book comes from the private library of K-Å Askagården - the last owner of Lengertz in Lund - who wrote mentioned notes among which an "X" is found, meaning the books is not for sale. --- From front inside flap: "First published in 1899 and out of print for many years, this reissue of Kegan Paul's Memories is a precious gathering of anecdote and recollection from Victorian England: childhood in his father's Somerset parish, school there and at Eton, Oxford life in the high church ecxitements, Eton master, vicar of a parish - and finally, publisher. His spiritual journey was from the established church, via Comte and Unitarianism and under Newman's influence to Rome. The range of his stories is from country parish to Browning, Tennyson and George Eliot. He was a most civilised publisher, and this quality of mind appears in his literary style."
