Information systems development - methods-in-action

Information systems development - methods-in-action

Häftad bok. Mcgraw-hill Education - Europe. 2002. 216 sidor.

Mycket gott skick. Tillsynes obläddrat exemplar ///Förlagets beskrivning: Methods in Action provides a realistic and modern approach to a recognised problem in Information Systems Development. There are literally hundreds of ISD methods, all offering various degrees of prescriptive advice to practitioners to help solve the problems of ISO. Evidence suggests, however, that these methods are not all that widely used, and when used even notionally, different developers apply them very inconsistentty. From the historical roots of ISO, the authors demonstrate the emergence and evolution of these techniques and how they are cultivating a growing maturity within ISO practices overall. This book seeks to examine the method in action process in detail and locate in the holistic context of ISD. This holistic perspective is manifest in the comprehenswe range of informed ISD discussion from the very beginnings of systems development techniques in the i960's, to the dramatic new
developments expected in the future. The authors examine recent phenomena such as Open Source Software (OSS), extreme Programming (XP), the Rational Unified Process (RUP), Rapid Application Development (RAD), Enterprise Resource Software Planning (ERP) and discuss the
implications that these phenomena have for ISD. An Online Learning Centre is available to support the textbook containing chapter-by-chapter discussion questions, relevant figures from the text, useful weblinks, and a complete set of lecture slides. Brian Fitzgerald holds the Frederick A Krehblel II Chair in Innovation in Global Business and Technology at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Nancy L Russo is Associate Professor and Chair of the Operations Management and Information Systems Department, Northern Illinois University, USA. Erik Stolterman is Professor at the Department of Informatics. Umeå University, Sweden. Each of the authors has published extensively on this subject, and have taught courses for many years in the area. They also have extensive commercial experience of information systems development in a range of industry sectors and a number of countries.
