Selborne : et sogns natur og fugleliv

Selborne : et sogns natur og fugleliv

Inbunden bok.

Mycket gott skick. Oversat efter Gilbert White 'The Natural History of Selborne' af Niels Haislund --- Illustreret af Mads Stage H. Hagerup, Köbenhavn 1951. 375 (4) pages in a beautiful half-leather by F. Müller. The volume shows light shelf wear and has a couple of small marks on the spine. The contents have been handled with care, it's close to flawless. The back flyleaf has unfortunately been applied using alittle to much glue, which has created waves in its centre and top left. The overall condition is very good. --- From the synopsis of "The Natural History of Selborne": "More than any other writer, Gilbert White (1720-93) has shaped the relationship between man and nature. A hundred years before Darwin, White realised the crucial role of worms in the formation of soil and understood the significance of territory and song in birds. His precise, scrupulously honest and unaffectedly witty observations led him to interpret animals' behaviour in a unique manner."
