Top edge gilt, the fore-edge and the lower edge are uncut. Corners and spines are very slightly worn. Weak crease in the upper corner until page 56 in vol. one. Tear of 2,5 cm on page 15 in vol. two and a tear of 4 cm on page 83 (repaired). The protective paper is missing for some of the plates. Minor brown speckles on a couple of pages. Bookseller labels: “W. & G. Foyle, London” on the back paste-downs.
