Gott skick. The Psalms have always been of central in the importance in the scholarly study of the Old Testament. The present study connects to the tradition,and seeks to challenge some of e results of earlier scholarship and find partly new ways of interpreting the Psalms by listening more to the texts themselves and by taking e early history of interpretation into consideration.

The object of the study is Psalm 34, often considered to be an "uninteresting" and rather late poem. Th psalm is investigated in two steps:first, a choose reading is offered to find out what is specific to the psalm; second, a study is made of its use in e New Testament and in the writings of some early Greek fathers of the church.
