Mycket gott skick. Allan Bell, London 1834. 8vo (14,3 x 22,4 cm). viii, 208 + 60 plates (with altogether 300 engravings). Bound in a beautiful, contemporary halfcalf with four raised bands, marbled covers and edges and green title label on spine (bound by G. Mandahl, Gothenburg). Corners bumped. The bottom five centimetres of the joints cracked. Textblock clean and well-preserved. With the book plate belonging to the Scottish Barclay clan, with the motto ”Crux Christi Solamen Affert”. According to Swedish library historian C. M. Carlander (vol. 4; p. 81) the owner of the book plate was Alexander Barclay (1822 (1817?)–1885), who lived in Sweden and had a book collection which was sold on auction in 1882 (catalogue listing 960 titles).
