Mycket gott skick. Skyddsomslag i hyggligt skick. Avtagbar skyddsplast. Skyddsomslag skavt. Drawing from official records and interviews with fellow soldiers, Fehrenbach provides a sweeping, critical analysis of the conflict, from the strategic decisions of military and political leaders to the fierce combat experienced by U.S. troops on the ground. The book's central thesis is a critique of the military and political unpreparedness of the United States at the start of the war. Following World War II, the U.S. military had been severely downsized, and its training and institutional discipline had languished. Fehrenbach argues this neglect led to preventable casualties and a difficult conflict for U.S. forces. Military career: Fehrenbach served with the U.S. Infantry and Engineers during World War II. During the Korean War, Fehrenbach rose from platoon leader to company commander and then to battalion staff officer of the 72nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division.
