La Pipe Cassée. Poëme. Epitragipoissardheroicomique.

Hyggligt skick. Soft covers. Not the original wrappings. Green paper. Probably from 19th century. The cover is worn. Especially at the spine were the wrapper is only partly intact. 45 pages. Illustrated with 4 copper engraved headpieces and vignettes at the end of each chapter. Half the title-page, the lower part, have at some point been torn. The title page have been professional repaired with paper. Someone have added a quite skilful drawing of a couple of crossed pipes and two faces smoking pipes, and the name "Vadé" have been added. Which is Jean Joseph Vade who is the author of this "poeme". Some paper loss at the first page "Avertissement" lower corner . Aprox. 1 x 1 centimeter. Tear at the margin at page 9.
Since the lower part of the title page is gone it took some work to establish the publisher / printer. It turned out to be: "Pierre Bonne-Humeur", so the lower part: chez Pierre Bonne-Humeur, avec permission du public” Which is a fake name to avoid the censors. [...false name and address used by printers looking to escape the censor’s wrath. Among many other noms de presse used [...] chez Pierre Bonne-Humeur, avec permission du public” (at liberty, Pierre Good-Humour, with the permission of the public). ] No date of publishing. But very late 18th or very early 19th century is a qualified guess considering the typography and layout. Considering age and use it's a a fairly nice copy, with all pages intact. And it has the contemporary hand-made drawings and a colourful history.
