Most of the people who live in Lynn Valley today or who had visited on their way to Lynn Canyon Park know little or nothing about it's early history. Fortunately for us, one man, Walter MacKay Draycott, has lived in Lynn Valley since the early 1900s and has always taken a keen interest in the people and happenings of this area since his arrival in 1911. He has preserved his knowledge and events through his carefully written diaries and Through the publication of this book. Mr. Draycott has made it possible for us to learn something about that period of Lynn Valleys history stretching from his arrival to the early 1930s. It is through the interest, the recollections and the efforts of early settlers like him that much of the local history of areas like Lynn Valley is preserved for posterity.
