Zoological results of the Swedish Expedition to Central Africa 1921: Insecta. [Complete set.]

Zoological results of the Swedish Expedition to Central Africa 1921: Insecta. [Complete set.]

Inbunden bok.

Nyskick. Sthm: KVA, 1923-6. 8vo. (326) pp. + six collotype plates. Complete set of the 27 parts published on various occasions in the KVA serial "Arkiv för Zoologi", and now very seldom found together as a complete set. Magnificently bound up by Hedberg in one volume, blue cloth (?), gilt edges top, front and foot, and with the crowned monogram of the Swedish prince Eugen (1865-1947; a great Swedish artist) stamped in gold on the front cover. The African expedition 1921 was led by Prince Eugen's nephew Prince Wilhelm and Count Nils Gyldenstolpe, and the present volume might possibly have been a present to Eugen by one of those two persons, or by the editor himself, who was in charge of the entomological department at the Natural History Museum in Stockholm, the present owner of the collection described in the volume. It is important to note that the present complete selection has been brought together for binding by a real expert, correcting the errors in the list found on pp.293-4 in the KVA bibliography of the KVA publications 1918-60 (1965).
