AgNO3, som är den vetenskapliga beteckningen för silvernitrat, tjänade som kemisk grund för fotografin ända fram till den digitala eran. Boken AgNO3, som anknyter till den omtalade utställningen på Landskrona museum med samma namn, skildrar fotografiet i relation till en mängd olika infallsvinklar: Hur en sjukdom kan gestalta sig, hur en upptäcktsresande kartlägger vita fläckar, hur dammiga insektssamlingar får en renässans, hur förbrytare bör avbildas för bästa igenkänning, hur en hemmafru rör sig vid spisen, vilka typer av moln det finns, varför fallskärmar inte vecklar ut sig (oavsett moln), hur man porträtterar granar och mycket mer.
På 239 sidor möter vi mördare och molnfotografer, stiftar bekantskap med seriösa forskare i vita rockar liksom glada entusiaster. Ibland kan det vetenskapligt intressanta ha uppstått först i vår tid.
